Release Procedures
The previously released version will now be kept live for two months side-by-side with the new version to allow users/developers to update their parsers.
As an example, for this next release http://weather.aero/dataserver1_2/ will be created and http://weather.aero/dataserver_current/ will point to it. http://weather.aero/dataserver1_1/ will be available for two months after the 1_2 release to allow developers time to update their parsers to access the new server.
It is recommended that users use the versioned areas (dataserver1_2, etc) instead of the dataserver_current link if they are concerned about formats changing underneath them. The dataserver_current area will change with each release and therefore parsing or requests to this area may break with each release. However, if the dataserver_current link is used there is not any need to update the request URL for each new release.
Current paths:
-This is the OLDER/previous version of the server. This version of the server is still available but will be discontinued after August 15, 2007
- http://weather.aero/dataserver1_2/
-This is the CURRENT/newest version of the server. This version of the server is available until two months after the next release.
- This is a "pointer" or "link" to the most recent version of the server. At the moment this points to http://weather.aero/dataserver1_2/ .
