Updates to Web Site

July 22, 2011

We've made several updates to the Experimental ADDS web site:

  • Registered users may now indicate more than one home station (click on 'Settings' at the top of the page).
  • The Ceiling and Visibility Analysis product has been promoted to its own page. As part of its path to operations, FAA Flight Safety has reduced the number of ceiling and visibility level we show and has instructed us to remove the confidence overlay. Because the HEMS tool is under a different guidance, the full levels are still available there.
  • Automatic playing of the home page views can now be disabled from the user profile.
  • Hover zoom can now be disabled on each product page.
  • Satellite images can now be animated.
  • The FAQ and Terms of Use have been updated.
  • Documentation for the dataserver, METARs, and the Ceiling and Visibility Analysis have been updated
  • The FlightPath Tool and HEMS Tool have the following updates:
    • The Ceiling and Visibility Analysis product has been modified to conform to FAA guidance, as described above.
    • The National Convective Weather Forecast version 2 has been removed, as this product is discontinued.
    • The displays will now correct for invalid system time on client computers
    • The Flight Path Tool has improved handling for the globe, including zooming over the poles.
    • The Flight Path Tool flightpath now recognizes 3-letter VORs.
    • The Flight Path Tool no longer shows the File Manager at startup.
    • ...and several other enhancements and performance improvements

As always, things can go awry during a release. Please notify us if you notice any anomalies.

Thank you,

The ADDS Team
